Success

Word of the Day:  Success

Verse of the Day:  “As the nations which the Lord destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the Lord your God.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭8:20‬

What is success?

The definition of success is the achievement of something desired, planned or attempted. The gaining of fame or prosperity.

Each person will apply their definition of success differently, to themselves or how they see others.

We each define what measures our success, whether it is money, social status, career goals or family. It’s the bar we try to reach. We also view the success of others and sometimes we are very critical of that. We look at others and because their measure of success is different than ours we make judgements.

Any time we hear the word success we think of something rich or extravagant. Society has made us think success is something extraordinary. Society makes us think success is having the most money, the most cars, the biggest houses and the best jobs. People have begun to believe success is not attainable.

Success is just something we try to achieve. It’s a bar or level. For some it is unrealistically high, and for others, it’s very low.  No matter what, success is based on individual perception, either projected or received. Success can easily be being able to do something you weren’t able to do.

But there is much much more to success. And honestly it’s the only success that matters. It’s the success as measured by God.

God views success through obedience and faithfulness. It has been seen throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament. God outlined what He defined to be successful. It always included being obedient and faithful. There are verses upon chapters upon books on success in the Bible. It’s the greatest Self Help best seller available. All you ever need to know about being successful is in the Bible. And all you have to do is be obedient and faithful to God.

Each and every day you should pray a promise of faithfulness and obedience to God. People will see your success through your obedience. I would rather be know for my faithfulness to God than my employment or my financial standing. I would rather people see my faithfulness to God rather than my social standing.

Being faithful means to adhere to something firmly and devotedly. Without wavering. And being obedient means to submit to authority. You have to give up wanting to be in control. This is where you “give it to God”.  Devote your time and attention to Him. Success isn’t achieved unless you start. And starting doesn’t begin without you.

Be faithful in your prayer time.  Be obedient in church attendance. Be faithful and obedient in your bible reading.

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:10‬

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:19‬

Hebrews 10:23
