Sharing is Caring

Sharing is Caring

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:3‬

Such a simple verse really. Only those that don’t know the gospel are truly lost. Sure people that know the gospel might not be saved by definition but they know of Jesus Christ.  And even some who have come to know Jesus as their savior might stray.

To me this verse means that we shouldn’t hide The Gospel. We should share it. We should be proud of it. We should be willing to tell anyone and everyone about it. And yet, here we sit. With no excuses and we still don’t share it. Isn’t there someone in your life that you can share the gospel of Jesus Christ with especially on this day?

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:20

My grandmother used to have a saying that I had not idea, really, what it meant. I used to think she just said it from time to time when my brother and I would fight over things. She would simply say, “boys share, sharing is caring”. It really didn’t work, but we heard it a lot.  It definitely applies with The Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you care about someone, share the gospel with them.

It’s very simple. Jesus lived to preach about salvation. He discipled many. He lived to die on the cross at Calvary for our sins. And then He was resurrected from the dead. And the gospel was born.

Unfortunately as easy as it is to read and understand so many of us find difficulty in sharing it with others. And sometimes, not always, we find something good, we don’t want to share it. The Gospel is the exception.

My preacher can find any opportunity to share the Gospel. I’m sure he gets nervous from time to time. But he still finds a way, even when randomly delivering apple cider, to deliver a gospel tract.

This won’t be a long devotion, it isn’t necessary. Answer the questions below and then pray and ask God to show you how to be successful in sharing The Gospel with someone. And keep it simple. Like me, some don’t want the confusing, over complicated way to salvation. They don’t want to think there are tricks and hurdles to get through - and there isn’t. It is simple.

Have you shared The Gospel with someone in the last week? If not, why?

Have you invited someone to church?

Can you explain The Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Sharing The Gospel is simple, easy and life changing. Find someone this week that you can share The Gospel with. Go make a friend. Pick up the phone, make a call, send a text, private message or send a letter.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15‬
