Knowing is Not Understanding

Knowing is not Understanding.

Just because you know a thing doesn’t mean you understand anything.

 - Not everything of God will be revealed to us.  -

We are a people that demand to know everything. Unfortunately the world doesn’t work like that. Our knowledge doesn’t give us understanding. People believe that increasing knowledge gives increasing power. We will never truly comprehend the vastness of God’s will.

 - The things that are revealed to us we will know. -

We will only ever know what is revealed to us. We are not prophetic, although many claim to be. We are momentary. God will reveal those things that He wants us to know. Understanding will come from our relationship with Him and from the Holy Spirit in us.

 - We won’t understand everything that is revealed to us. -

Even though God will reveal things to us: it will only be those things He wants us to know. Our understanding comes from obedience to Him. A life away from God lacks understanding.

 - We must be obedient to God. -

We must live inside God’s will in order to be obedient to Him. Being good is not being obedient. Obedience is sacrifice the things you want for the things that God wants for you.

 - Once saved, we are called to serve. -

Once we are saved we must serve the Kingdom of God. Service is not sacrifice. Service is returned favor.
