Bend At The Knees
Bend At The Knees
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
Ever lock your knees while standing and have someone push your leg from behind? Crazy how unstable we are.
If you’ll just bend your knees slightly, we have so much more balance. Yet, every time we are frightened or stressed we tend to lock up every single body part.
Stand firm doesn’t mean to stand rigid and unbendable. It means to be unshaken and to have a solid foundation. This solid foundation in our body starts with bending the knees
Our faith can be solid as well.
Sounds simple, yet we fail constantly. At least I do. I have let the world shake my faith.
As believers we have eternal salvation - we will spend eternity with our Lord and Savior. And yet, we forget this.
The hard part for me, is over - it took for-ever for me to turn my life to Christ. Once I did, I just have to let go. I have to let go of the things I think I need to do, to fix, to accomplish and to build.
I am now a child of God.
I have to stop letting the world make me unbalanced, shake me up and move me around.
The world is a stressful place. It’s uneasy. Misguided. Not restful. And there can be loads of uncertainty. If we let it.
It’s still possible to stand up with shaky legs, even though our balance will waiver. As many things as I’ve stressed over or let my anxiety explode around - it’s because I’ve weakened my faith by becoming unbalanced.
I have let the smallest things push me around. I let emotional or stressful events pry cracks in my faith. Cracks that were unnoticeable have become doorways.
And all because of me. And I can overcome it, simply by letting go.
Letting go of the world is the biggest show of our faith in God. When we let go of the world, we rely on our faith in God.
I remind myself of all the things God has done in the short two and a half years since I let go. I remind myself daily to rely on Him and not me.
Every single activity that requires balance says to bend your knees, not keep them straight or locked.
The only way to keep your balance in this world is by bending your knees to God.
Stand firm in your faith and let go of yourself.

“Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: as ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, that ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”
1 Thessalonians 2:10-13
