All Things

All Things.

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4:11‬

Does God need anything?  Not literally, God doesn’t need a thing. He loves us unconditionally. But He does deserve our love. After all, He created us.

You and I wouldn’t be here without God creating Adam and Eve. Ever think about that? He could’ve created everything else. Trees, stars, the heavens and the earth.

When we glorify God we are praising Him for His love, mercy and grace. And yes, even our creation.

We can’t give anything tangible to God that He doesn’t already own. It is all His. No matter what we tell ourselves about all that we think we have done - it wouldn’t be, without Him.

Every purchase, every accomplishment, every talent, every second and even every breath, is because of God. Even our children are a gift from God.

So why do we turn the tables so often and make us the center of it all?

We are willing to take credit when it goes well, and readily blame Him when it doesn’t.

We believe that by some worldly effort we exist to reward ourselves and that our accomplishments are because we made it happen.

I don’t presume to believe what God thinks. And I definitely don’t believe I had anything to do with how well things turn out when they do.

What I believe is that we are merely dust without God. And I truly believe that we need to give God the honor and love He deserves.

Everything else is temporary.

Jesus said - “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

He didn’t say anything.

He didn’t say some things.

He said ALL THINGS.

Absolutely everything you have, has been given to you by God.

It’s nonsense really, but people will go on believing that they are the reason everything has been accomplished and why things exist. Yes, we have free will and the ability to think and choose.

You don’t control time and you certainly don’t control the outcomes. You have to let go of yourself to be in a relationship with God. If you believe you control any of it, you’re right back at putting yourself at the center of it.

The one thing you do control is that you have to desire that relationship with Him - that is where your max effort should be.

God doesn’t need our help. He has it completely under control and by design.

We have to stop fooling ourselves with pride,  believing that we are the missing piece. We arrogantly pat ourselves on the back without thanking God for our mere breath and abilities. Yet we are saddened when a loved one dies, an accomplishment goes unnoticed or we didn’t achieve all that we thought we should have.

Our effort is only because God has allowed us to be. It’s about time we make the time to thank Him for all that is possible because of Him, not us.

The entire Bible is based on God’s love for us and what He was willing to do for His creation.

‬ “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV
