Where Am I?

Where Am I?

“that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9-10‬

When my brother and I were younger my grandfather would play a game with us that taught us a valuable skill. The game involved a large paper map. Usually this map was of a regional area, like the southwest. He sit us at the table and give us a set of coordinates on the map. These coordinates would get us close to the city that he had written down and kept to himself. We had a time limit to find the city using the coordinates on this large map. Sometimes we were given two sets of coordinates and told to find a route.

Sometimes he would give us clues, sometimes not. First one to the city was the winner.

This was a basic game we played on a rainy day.  My grandfather used to tell us to imagine that we were lost.

Well today we have so many electronic options available to us for navigation that many rarely use a paper map. We type, or even say, a name and off we go.

Imagine if you had no map available, no GPS and no idea where you were?

You’d be lost.

So many people depend on GPS, maps, navigational tools and their own sense of direction to get them around.

You know what it’s like, to go on a road trip somewhere you’ve never been and not know where you are. Trying to find a destination with traffic, a wife and kids or a time limit can really induce stress.

Now take away your map or GPS and totally rely on your faith to get you there. Many of us would stop for directions or there’d be a lot of yelling in the car.

It is nearly impossible to get to a desired place without knowing the route. Even then, we need to know what to do if that route is blocked or a detour occurs.

The same is true in your faith.

If you do not believe in Jesus Christ and put your faith and trust in Him, you are lost.

Think of it this way. The destination is Heaven and the route is Jesus Christ. The only way you get to Heaven is through Jesus Christ.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬

If you want to get to Heaven you have to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. There is no alternate route. No bypass and no detours.

Not believing in Jesus Christ, means you are a citizen of this world and not a child of God or a citizen of Heaven. You will not have eternal life in Heaven.

Now imagine your kids and wife or family or friends are in the car of salvation with you. How important is the destination now?

You know the way to get there. You know the destination. You know what will happen if you’re lost.

What are you going to do?

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
