Wait For It

Wait For It.

“but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬

In today’s world, everything is done with speed. Nothing is slow and we need it now!  Society has replaced “slow and steady wins the race” with “never slow down”.

I would have never equated the word “wait” with courage, strength or belief before reading my Bible.

Waiting takes time. Waiting, in my eyes, doesn’t equate to anything - nothing is produced when we wait. By waiting, we give things up.

But that’s not how I see it now.

Once I turned my life over to Jesus Christ, I can see it now. I can see where the wait, the relinquishing of my will to God’s, is worth the wait.

There was once a time in my life when I did everything for me. I did things for other people as well, but on my scale and at my standard. They were good things, polite and respectable at times, but it was still my way. It was what I wanted, when I wanted it.

This didn’t work out the way I wanted it to, so I turned my life over to Jesus Christ and never looked back. It was painful. Still is at times. To see what a life, that isn’t Christ-centered and focused on God, was like.

But It can be done. You can relinquish your Will for God’s.

Your standard can be the Bible and the principles and teachings of Jesus Christ. You can change your life by living it for God and not your desires or the worlds.  But it takes your desire to do it. This is what dying to yourself daily means.

You have to learn to wait. You have to learn to wait for God to show you. You will learn so much more when you “wait for it”.  Waiting is setting your speed, your desire, your want and need and your influence aside. You are allowing your relationship, and your faith and your trust in Him, show you His Will.

Waiting isn’t measurable. If we focus on how long or when, we are missing the point entirely for waiting. Waiting is relying on God, not ourselves. Waiting is allowing God to work in our lives, not being impatient. Waiting is building strength in us. Waiting reveals our courage and hope. And it deepens our trust and faith in God.

God will reveal His Will for your life in His perfect timing - not ours. But only if we learn to live in His Will, not ours.

Read your Bible.

Have Christ-centered conversations.

Be around like-minded Christians.

Find a Bible centered church.

And pray.

Make Jesus Christ the center of your life.

“Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27:14

“I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, And in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord More than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭130:5-6‬
