Magnets

Magnets

“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭9:16‬

It’s so interesting how magnets work. On one side they slide across a table and connect together. On the other side they can push each other apart.  I was always fascinated by magnets. Still am.

We can be just like magnets at times. We can be so inviting and encouraging and at times we can be pushy.

We cannot attract people to Jesus Christ by pushing them away. It is impossible to draw something close and push it away at the same time.

This is how it can be when we want so badly for people to have a relationship with God.

Our desire can appear in such a way it can push people away.

The best way to draw someone in is to attract them. I don’t mean physically. I mean if they see your relationship.

People will always look at the relationships you have - why not your relationship with God?

Do people see how you love God?

We can want so hard for someone to know God like we know Him. Or to have a relationship with Him like we have.

But as much as we want someone else to know God, it is only by our actions that they can see God in us, what He has done in our lives, our growth, our love.

It is only by God’s mercy and grace - not of our desire, not our push, not our want - not even our will.

Wanting someone to have a relationship with God will not make them have a relationship with God.

Seeing what God is doing in our lives will bring people to want a relationship with Him.

Share God today by who God has made you to be. Remember be patient, be kind and be loving.

“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:10
