Same Difference
Same Difference
“And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.”
Genesis 11:1
How crazy or amazing is it that every single human being came from two people that God created in His image?
I always found the phrase, “same difference” quite interesting. Something was the same, yet different. How is that possible?
Take the human race for instance. We all come from Adam and Eve, yet look at all of our differences. I begat from someone who begat from someone who begat from someone else. All different, yet all the same.
Look at our world. So much violence and discourse, all because of different religious and political backgrounds. Different beliefs make different perspectives. Different opinions make for different ideals. Different strokes for different folks.
Our world began as two people. Yet, now, our world is divided and separated, one or two, better than the others. So many differences.
We defined the differences in race, sex and religion - not God. It started with one race and one God. He created us and we try to change us.
We have over 30 different religious beliefs, thousands of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds and even in just these three categories there are separation, division and multiplication of change. I can’t keep up with number of differences that people want to be classified as. There’s binary, binary plus, not she and only he. People want to be classified in race, religion and sex.
Everyone wants to be different , yet every single person in the human race is the same.
The only difference is male and female.
Sure there is a difference in skin pigment, dialect and body makeup - but other than that, the differences are man made.
Cultural, political, social, ethical, spiritual and moral classification are all changed because of man. It didn’t start like that and God never intended it to be like that.
Sure there is sin. That was man made as well.
The human race is the same. You can’t change that. No one can. Even though we have differences, we are the same. And you can’t change that.
Our differences on the outside are genetically different and adapted. We are the same inside.
What we change to be different is man made. Not from God.
We are different because we choose to be different. Not one person is better than the other - not by God’s standard. Only by our standard do we believe we are better than someone else.
Be what God wants you to be.
You can’t change the facts you can only change what you believe.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
Genesis 1:27
“Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.”
Genesis 9:6
