Longing for Our Lord - by Lucas
Longing for Our Lord
Written by Lucas
“My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord, my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.” (Psalms 84:2)
In Psalms 84:2 the psalmist writes about how he longs for God and His courts. When he writes that, he is sending us a message to long for the Lord too, and even through our hardships on earth, we still need to follow the Lord and follow His courts.
When he wrote “his heart and his flesh crieth out for the living God,” he is trying to say that even through our sinful nature, we can still live for the Lord.
That means that there are no excuses for when we sin, but God gave us all a chance, we can still improve and be more Christ-like by longing for God and keeping and following His laws.
It doesn’t matter how rough the state your going through is, because as long as you have God you can persevere through your situation.
God is our only God, we should seek Him above everything else, we should long for everything about him even in the hardest times.
“O God, thou art My God; early will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;”
Psalm 63:1
We need to keep our eyes on Gods sole purpose for us and always keep moving toward our God.
Even though life can bring struggles, we need to long through all our troubles and stay on Gods path for us.
